하루 일곱번씩 주를 찬양하나이다
Seven times a day I praise you!

우주 창조

1 태초에 하나님께서 하늘과 땅을 창조하셨습니다.

2 그런데 그 땅은 지금처럼 짜임새있는 모습이 아니었고, 생물 하나 없이 텅 비어 있었습니다. 어둠이 깊은 바다를 덮고 있었고, 하나님의 영은 물 위에서 움직이고 계셨습니다.

3 그 때에 하나님께서 말씀하셨습니다. "빛이 생겨라!" 그러자 빛이 생겼습니다.

4 그 빛이 하나님께서 보시기에 좋았습니다. 하나님께서 빛과 어둠을 나누셨습니다.

5 하나님께서는 빛을 '낮'이라 부르시고, 어둠을 '밤'이라 부르셨습니다. 저녁이 지나고 아침이 되니, 이 날이 첫째 날이었습니다.

6 하나님께서 또 말씀하셨습니다. "물 한가운데 둥근 공간이 생겨 물을 둘로 나누어라."

7 하나님께서 둥근 공간을 만드시고, 그 공간 아래의 물과 공간 위의 물을 나누시니 그대로 되었습니다.

8 하나님께서 그 공간을 '하늘'이라 부르셨습니다. 저녁이 지나고 아침이 되니, 이 날이 둘째 날이었습니다.

The Beginning

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

2 The earth didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. There was darkness over the surface of the waves. At that time, the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light.

4God saw that the light was good. He separated the light from the darkness.

5God called the light “day.” He called the darkness “night.” There was evening, and there was morning. It was day one.

6 God said, “Let there be a huge space between the waters. Let it separate water from water.”

7 And that’s exactly what happened. God made the huge space between the waters. He separated the water under the space from the water above it.

8 God called the huge space “sky.” There was evening, and there was morning. It was day two.

Apollo 8, the first manned mission to the Moon, entered lunar orbit on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1968. That evening, the astronauts; Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot Jim Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders did a live television broadcast from lunar orbit, in which they showed pictures of the Earth and Moon seen from Apollo 8. Lovell said, "The vast loneliness is awe-inspiring and it makes you realize just what you have back there on Earth." They ended the broadcast with the crew taking turns reading from the book of Genesis.
