She would become the mother of every living person.21 The Lord God made clothes out of animal skins for Adam and his wife to wear. 22 The Lord God said, “Just like one of us, the man can now tell the difference between good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out and pick fruit from the tree of life and eat it. If he does, he will live forever.” 23 So the Lord God drove the man out of the Garden of Eden. He sent the man to farm the ground he had been made from. 24 The Lord God drove him out and then placed angels on the east side of the garden. He also placed there a flaming sword that flashed back and forth. 하루 일곱번씩 주를 찬양하나이다Seven times a day I praise you! 인류의 타락9 그때 여호와 하나님이 아담을 불러 물었다. “아담아, 네가 어디 있느냐?”10 “내가 동산에서 하나님이 거니시는 소리를 듣고, 벗었으므로 두려워 숨었습니다.”11 “네가 벗은 것을 누가 너에게 말해 주었느냐? 내가 먹지 말라고 한 과일을 네가 먹었구나!”12 “하나님이 나와 함께 있게 하신 여자가 그 과일을 주어서 내가 먹었습니다.”13 그때 여호와 하나님이 여자에게 “네가 어째서 이렇게 하였느냐?” 하고 묻자 여자는 “뱀이 꾀어서 내가 먹었습니다” 하고 대답하였다.14 그래서 여호와 하나님이 뱀에게 말씀하셨다. “네가 이런 짓을 하였으니 모든 가축과 들짐승보다 더욱 저주를 받아 지금부터 배로 기어다니고 죽을 때까지 흙을 먹을 것이다.15 내가 너를 여자와 원수가 되게 하고 너의 후손도 여자의 후손과 원수가 되게 하겠다. 여자의 후손이 네 머리를 상하게 할 것이며 너는 그의 발꿈치를 상하게 할 것이다.”16 그리고 하나님이 여자에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 너에게 임신하는 고통을 크게 더할 것이니 네가 진통을 겪으며 자식을 낳을 것이요, 너는 남편을 사모하고 남편은 너를 다스릴 것이다.”17 그러고서 하나님은 아담에게 말씀하셨다. “네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 먹지 말라고 한 과일을 먹었으니 땅은 너 때문에 저주를 받고 너는 평생 동안 수고해야 땅의 생산물을 먹게 될 것이다.Adam and Eve Fall Into Sin9 But the Lord God called out to the man. “Where are you?” he asked.10 “I heard you in the garden,” the man answered. “I was afraid, because I was naked. So I hid.”11 The Lord God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten fruit from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?”12 The man said, “It’s the fault of the woman you put here with me. She gave me some fruit from the tree. And I ate it.”13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?”The woman said, “The serpent tricked me. That’s why I ate the fruit.”14 So the Lord God spoke to the serpent. He said, “Because you have done this,“You are set apart from all livestockand all wild animals.I am putting a curse on you.You will crawl on your belly.You will eat dustall the days of your life.15 I will make you and the woman hate each other.Your children and her children will be enemies.Her son will crush your head.And you will bite his heel.”16 The Lord God said to the woman,“I will increase your pain when you give birth.You will be in great pain when you have children.You will long for your husband.And he will rule over you.”17 The Lord God said to Adam, “You listened to your wife’s suggestion. You ate fruit from the tree I warned you about. 하루 일곱번씩 주를 찬양하나이다Seven times a day I praise you! 인류의 타락1 여호와 하나님이 창조하신 동물 중에서 뱀이 가장 교활하였다. 뱀이 여자에게 “하나님이 정말 너희에게 동산에 있는 모든 과일을 먹지 말라고 하셨느냐?” 하고 묻자2 여자가 뱀에게 대답하였다. “우리가 동산의 과일을 먹을 수 있으나3 동산 중앙에 있는 과일은 하나님이 ‘먹지도 말고 만지지도 말아라. 그렇지 않으면 너희가 죽게 될 것이다’ 라고 말씀하셨다.”4 그때 뱀이 여자에게 “너희는 절대로 죽지 않을 것이다.5 하나님이 너희에게 그렇게 말씀하신 것은 너희가 그것을 먹으면 눈이 밝아져서 하나님과 같이 되어 선악을 분별하게 될 것을 하나님이 아셨기 때문이다” 하고 말하였다.6 여자가 그 나무의 과일을 보니 먹음직스럽고 보기에 아름다우며 지혜롭게 할 만큼 탐스럽기도 하였다. 그래서 여자가 그 과일을 따서 먹고 자기 남편에게 주니 그도 그것을 먹었다.7 그러자 갑자기 그들의 눈이 밝아져서 자기들이 벌거벗은 것을 알게 되었다. 그래서 그들은 무화과나무 잎을 엮어서 치마를 만들어 몸을 가렸다.8 그 날 저녁, 날이 서늘할 때에 아담과 그의 아내는 여호와 하나님이 동산에서 거니시는 소리를 듣고 그분의 낯을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨었다.Adam and Eve Fall Into Sin1 The serpent was more clever than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. The serpent said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat fruit from any tree in the garden’?”2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden. 3 But God did say, ‘You must not eat the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden. Do not even touch it. If you do, you will die.’ ”4 “You will certainly not die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “God knows that when you eat fruit from that tree, you will know things you have never known before. Like God, you will be able to tell the difference between good and evil.”6 The woman saw that the tree’s fruit was good to eat and pleasing to look at. She also saw that it would make a person wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her. And he ate it. 7 Then both of them knew things they had never known before. They realized they were naked. So they sewed together fig leaves and made clothes for themselves.8 Then the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking in the garden. It was during the coolest time of the day. 하루 일곱번씩 주를 찬양하나이다Seven times a day I praise you! 아담과 이브18 그리고 여호와 하나님은 “사람이 혼자 사는 것이 좋지 못하니 내가 그를 도울 적합한 짝을 만들어 주겠다” 하고 말씀하셨다.19 여호와 하나님이 흙으로 온갖 들짐승과 새를 만드시고, 아담이 어떻게 이름을 짓나 보시려고 그것들을 그에게 이끌고 가시니 아담이 각 생물들을 부르는 것이 바로 그 생물들의 이름이 되었다.20 이와 같이 아담이 모든 가축과 공중의 새와 들짐승의 이름을 지어 주었지만 그를 도울 적합한 짝이 없었다.21 그래서 여호와 하나님은 아담을 깊이 잠들게 하시고 그가 자고 있는 동안 그의 갈빗대 하나를 뽑아내고 그 자리를 대신 살로 채우셨다.22 여호와 하나님이 아담에게서 뽑아낸 그 갈빗대로 여자를 만드시고 그녀를 아담에게 데려오시자23 아담이 이렇게 외쳤다. “이는 내 뼈 중의 뼈요 살 중의 살이구나! 남자에게서 나왔으니 이를 여자라고 부르리라.”24 그러므로 남자가 부모를 떠나 자기 아내와 합하여 두 사람이 한몸이 될 것이다.25 아담과 그의 아내가 다 같이 벌거벗었으나 그들은 부끄러워하지 않았다. Adam and Eve18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”19 The Lord God had formed all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He had made all of them out of the ground. He brought them to the man to see what names he would give them. And the name the man gave each living creature became its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, all the birds in the sky, and all the wild animals.But Adam didn’t find a helper that was just right for him. 21 So the Lord God caused him to fall into a deep sleep. While the man was sleeping, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs. Then the Lord God closed the opening in the man’s side. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman. He made her from the rib he had taken out of the man. And the Lord God brought her to the man.23 The man said,“Her bones have come from my bones.Her body has come from my body.She will be named ‘woman,’because she was taken out of a man.”24 That’s why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife. The two of them become one.25 Adam and his wife were both naked. 하루 일곱번씩 주를 찬양하나이다Seven times a day I praise you! 아담과 이브4 여호와 하나님이 세상을 창조하신 일은  이렇다:5 여호와 하나님이 땅에 비를 내리지 않으셨고 경작할 사람도 없었으므로 들에는 나무나 풀이 아직 없었고 밭에는 채소가 나지 않았으며6 안개만 땅에서 올라와 온 지면을 적셨다.7 그때 여호와 하나님이 땅의 티끌로 사람을 만들어 그 코에 생기를 불어넣으시자 산 존재가 되었다.8 그리고 여호와 하나님은 에덴 동쪽에 동산을 만들어 자기가 지은 사람을 거기에 두시고9 갖가지 아름다운 나무가 자라 맛있는 과일이 맺히게 하셨는데 그 동산 중앙에는 생명 나무와 선악을 알게 하는 나무도 있었다.10 에덴에 강이 생겨 동산을 적시며 흐르다가 거기서 다시 네 강으로 갈라졌다.11-12 그 첫째는 비손강으로 순금과 진귀한 향료와 보석이 있는 하윌라 땅을 굽이쳐 흘렀다.13 그리고 둘째는 기혼강이며 구스 땅을 가로질러 흘렀고14 셋째는 티그리스강으로 앗시리아 동쪽으로 흘렀으며 넷째는 유프라테스강이었다.15 여호와 하나님은 자기가 만든 사람을 에덴 동산에 두어 그 곳을 관리하며 지키게 하시고16 그에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “네가 동산에 있는 과일을 마음대로 먹을 수 있으나17 단 한 가지 선악을 알게 하는 과일만은 먹지 말아라. 그것을 먹으면 네가 반드시 죽을 것이다.” Adam and Eve4Here is the story of the heavens and the earth when they were created. The Lord God made the earth and the heavens.5At that time, bushes had not yet appeared on the earth. Plants had not started to grow. The Lord God had not sent rain on the earth. And there was no one to farm the land. 6But streams came from the earth. They watered the entire surface of the ground. 7Then the Lord God formed a man. He made him out of the dust of the ground. God breathed the breath of life into him. And the man became a living person.8The Lord God had planted a garden in the east in Eden. He put in the garden the man he had formed. 9The Lord God made every kind of tree grow out of the ground. The trees were pleasing to look at. Their fruit was good to eat. There were two trees in the middle of the garden. One of them had fruit that let people live forever. The other had fruit that let people tell the difference between good and evil.10A river watered the garden. It flowed out of Eden. From there the river separated into four other rivers. 11The name of the first river is the Pishon. It winds through the whole land of Havilah. Gold is found there. 12The gold of that land is good. Onyx and sweet-smelling resin are also found there. 13The name of the second river is the Gihon. It winds through the whole land of Cush. 14The name of the third river is the Tigris. It runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is called the Euphrates.15The Lord God put the man in the Garden of Eden. He put him there to farm its land and take care of it. 16The Lord God gave the man a command. He said, “You may eat fruit from any tree in the garden. 17But you must not eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He said to them, “Have children so that there will be many of you. Fill the earth and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the seas and the birds in the sky. Rule over every living creature that moves along the ground.”29Then God said, “I am giving you every plant on the face of the whole earth that produces its own seeds. I am giving you every tree that has fruit with seeds in it. All of them will be given to you for food. 30I am giving every green plant as food for all the land animals and for all the birds in the sky. I am also giving the plants to all the creatures that move along the ground. I am giving them to every living thing that breathes.” And that’s exactly what happened.31God saw everything he had made. And it was very good. There was evening, and there was morning. Let there be more and more birds on the earth.” 23There was evening, and there was morning. It was day five.24God said, “Let the land produce every kind of living creature.
